Lawrence Vern Sippy, 87, of Jemison, passed away on July 15 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.

He was born on Oct. 29, 1927, in Wisconsin, the son of the late Thomas and Myrtle Sippy.

He was a machinist.

He is survived by his son, David Sippy (Sharon), D.D.S. of New Glarus, Wis.; daughter, Janice Rich (Jeff) of Portland, Ore.; daughter, Linda Lewis (Ivan) of Jemison; granddaughter, Sheri Kay Collins; grandsons, Derek Sippy, Scott Otterstrom, Jason Lewis and Kelly Lewis; great-grandsons, Ryan Collins and Alex Collins and great-granddaughters, Katie Collins and Brooke Lewis.

Visitation will be held July 17 from 5-8 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Jemison.

Funeral services will be held July 18 at 5:30 p.m. from the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Jemison with Pastor Charles Wheeling officiating.

Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
