Drug bust in Jemison leads to 11 arrests

The Chilton County Sheriff’s Office executed two drug search warrants in Jemison on June 16, which ended with 11 individuals arrested.
One of the search warrants was served at a residence near the 200 block of County Road 38 where investigators seized 426 grams of “ice” methamphetamine with a street value of $42,600, $30,530, three vehicles and numerous items of drug paraphernalia, the release said.
Those arrested from the County Road 38 residence were Jon Michael Cunningham, 42, of Jemison, for trafficking methamphetamine, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and Tonya Gail Collins, 35, of Jemison, for trafficking methamphetamine, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Cunningham has been released from jail on a $166,500 bond, and Collins was released on a $10,750 bond.
Another search warrant was served at a residence near the 1500 block of Alabama Highway 155 where investigators seized 86 grams of “ice” methamphetamine with a street value of $8,600, four grams of marijuana, $2,640 and numerous items of drug paraphernalia including syringes, according to a press release from the sheriff’s department.
The individuals arrested from the residence included Jimmy Dewayne Rich, 40, of Columbiana, for trafficking methamphetamine and unlawful possession of a controlled substance; Stanley Joe Lowery, 28, of Jemison, for trafficking methamphetamine and unlawful possession of a controlled substance; Megan Nichole Compton, 27, of Montevallo, for unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia; Jona Renee McKenzie, 24, of Montevallo for unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia; Douglas Clayton Compton, 25, of Jemison, for unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia; Ricky Wayne Russell, 34, of Centerville, for conspiracy to commit a controlled substance crime; Thomas Walton, 30, of Calera, for conspiracy to commit a controlled substance crime; Steven Michael Lougher Jr., 37, of Jemison, for unlawful possession of marijuana second degree; Amanda Dawn Walters, 34, of Pelham, for unlawful possession of marijuana second degree.
Rich was released from jail on a $20,000 bond, Lowery was released on a $10,000 bond, Compton, was being held in the Chilton County Jail on a $5,750 bond, McKenzie was currently being held at the Chilton County Jail on a $5,750 bond, Douglas Clayton Compton was released on a $5,750 bond, Russell was being held in the Chilton County Jail on a $5,000 bond, Walton had been released on a $5,000 bond, Lougher Jr. had been released on a $750 bond and Walters had been released on a $750 bond.
“An operation in which this amount of illegal drugs are removed from the community is a great success,” Sheriff John Shearon said. “I would like to thank all law enforcement for their assistance. These cases are the result of a month long joint investigation of the Chilton County Sheriff’s Office along with Calera Police Department and Clanton Police Department.
