Grayson Gann is looking forward to spending her year as the 2015 Junior Miss Peach Queen representing Chilton County.

“When I heard my name announced that I had won, I was shocked and excited,” said Gann, 13. “I couldn’t believe I won, and it was just a wonderful feeling.”

Gann was crowned Tuesday night by 2014 Junior Miss Peach Whitley Smith during the pageant held at the Chilton County High School auditorium.

Gann is no stranger to the pageant scene after previously being named Little Miss Peach in 2007.

Gann's court included Madi Price, first alternate; Grace Nolen, second alternate; Claire Staggs, third alternate; Kat Taylor, fourth alternate; miss congeniality, Zoey Collum.

“I really enjoy competing, and I felt like my time as Little Miss Peach really prepared me for competing this year,” Gann said. “I think it really helped me know what to expect, and I felt more confident.”

Gann was also named the casual wear winner.

As she prepares to spend her year alongside her “peach sisters” attending various functions throughout the community and state, Gann said she looks forward to meeting new people and making new friends.

“I am just looking forward to the time with my sisters, and just going around and meeting everyone,” Gann said.

Gann said her favorite part of the pageant this year was the opening dance routine performed at the beginning of the pageant.

“I just loved that, and it was my favorite part,” Gann said. “I am really outgoing and I have always loved dancing, so I thought that part was a lot of fun.”

Gann is a resident of Thorsby and will attend Jemison High School in the fall.

She is the daughter of Greg and Heather Gann, and in her spare time she enjoys competitive cheer, water skiing, volleyball and horseback riding.

The 2015 Miss Peach will be crowned at the pageant on Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. at the CCHS auditorium.
