Chilton County varsity baseball and softball teams were well-represented on the Alabama Sports Writers annual All-State teams.

Locals won two of the top honors for their sports, as Thorsby’s Tyler Owens was named the Class 2A Hitter of the Year, and Isabella’s Mike Ratliff was named the Class 1A Coach of the Year.

Owens was a senior first baseman for the Rebels.

Other local baseball first-team honorees included Thorsby sophomore pitcher Bailey Sellers, Verbena senior first baseman and third baseman Garret Deavers and Maplesville freshman second baseman Brent Schoener.

Local softball first-team honorees included Billingsley sophomore pitcher Katlyn Childress and Billingsley freshman designated hitter Abby Tindol.
