Editor’s note: Below is a compilation of the statistics and achievements for graduates of Chilton County area schools who now compete at the college level.

Baseball

Cameron Cummings (Chilton County 2013) is an infielder for the University of South Alabama, which fell to 37-20 and 19-9 in Sun Belt Conference play after sustaining a 5-1 loss to the University of Louisiana – Lafayette (39-21) on May 24 in Troy, Alabama.

For the season, the sophomore’s tallied 13 runs scored, three RBI, two stolen bases, one double and a .281 batting average.

Alex Campbell (Jemison 2013) completed his sophomore season with a 6-4 record, three complete games, 57 1/3 innings, 43 strikeouts and a 5.34 ERA through 17 appearances and 11 starts as a pitcher for Wallace Community College–Selma (25-30, 15-17 Alabama Community College Conference North Division).

Craig Headley (Chilton County 2013) concluded his sophomore season with 33 runs scored, 18 RBIs, 16 doubles, six stolen bases, two triples, one home run and a .309 batting average as a catcher for Jefferson Davis Community College (20-31, 10-22 Alabama Community College Conference South Division).

Blake Teel (Chilton County 2014) finished his freshman season with a 5-1 record, three complete games, 59.1 innings, 17 strikeouts and a 3.03 ERA through 11 starts as a pitcher for Marion Military Institute (30-21, 16-12 Alabama Community College Conference North Division).

James Ratliff (Chilton County 2014) concluded his freshman season as a relief pitcher for Marion Military Institute by delivering 8 2/3 innings, five strikeouts and a 7.27 ERA through seven appearances.

Softball

Brianna Cleckler (Chilton County 2013) collected All-Alabama Community College Conference North Division second team honors in softball, the conference announced on May 15.

For the season, the sophomore pitcher led Southern Union State Community College to finish 45-15 overall and a 19-7 mark in Alabama Community College Conference North Division play by compiling a 27-8 record, 27 complete games, 211 1/3 innings, 103 strikeouts and 2.68 ERA through 36 appearances and 33 starts.

Forrest Knight (Chilton County 2013) concluded his sophomore season for the University of North Alabama by nabbing a fourth-place finish at the NCAA Division II Men’s Golf National Championships from May 19-21 in Conover, N.C.

In the competition, the sophomore finished with a score of 210 with rounds of 71, 69 and 70 for three strokes under par.

For his efforts this season, he was named to the PING All-South Region Team.

To clinch a berth in the NCAA Division II Men’s Golf National Championships, he collected an eighth-place finish at the NCAA Division II South/Southeast Regional Tournament from May 4-6 in Dade City, Fla.

In the competition, he collected the No. 1 performance for the Lions by posting a score of 215 with rounds of 73, 72 and 70.

For the season, he was twice named as the Gulf South Conference Player of the Month.

From March 1 – April 1, he collected his most recent medalist honor at the Argonaut Invitational with a score of 140 (68-72) en route to leading UNA to victory among the field of 16 teams in Pensacola, Fla. and receiving his most recent GSC Player of the Month award.
