Two teenagers killed in wreck near Maplesville

Two teenagers were killed in a three-vehicle wreck Saturday night east of Maplesville on Hwy. 82 in Chilton County.
Travon Markeze Johnson, 19, of Ralph and James Nathan Wheat, 18, of Buhl were pronounced dead on the scene of the wreck, which occurred at 8:15 p.m. Saturday near Mile Marker 113, about five miles east of Maplesville, according to a press release from Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
Johnson and Wheat were passengers in a 2007 Ford Mustang driven by a 19-year-old Coker resident, who was injured in the wreck, according to the release.
Cpl. Jess Thornton with ALEA said the Mustang collided with a 2014 Dodge Ram, which was then struck by a 2014 Kia.
No further information was immediately available. Alabama State Troopers are investigating the incident.
