Elizabeth Hall will host a “Downtown Spring Market,” featuring local craft vendors, on March 14.

Those looking for crafts and services with a local flare can visit downtown Clanton on March 14, as there will be a Downtown Spring Market held at Elizabeth Hall.

The Market is being put on by the Glasscock family, owners of Morlyn’s Fine Jewelry Gifts and Antiques, and serves to give those specializing in homemade crafts a chance to display their goods.

“We did one back at Christmas and had a pretty good turnout,” Ann Glasscock said. “We have done our own trunk shows before, so we thought we would open it up.”

The event is free to the public and will run from 8 a.m.-3 p.m., It features 18 crafts and services vendors, and will take place inside the building, located at 619 2nd Ave. N., regardless of rain or shine.

Glasscock said the idea for the show came from the desire to help other vendors gain customers.

“We just try to support other businesses,” Glasscock said. “We have so many creative and talented people in Chilton County, they need to be (showcased).”

Glasscock said while all of the vendors who will fill Elizabeth Hall have business licenses, not all had a storefront to connect with customers or display items.

“A lot of people are selling out of their homes,” she said. “From what I saw last time, they all have unique ideas and reasonable prices.”

Glasscock said vendors—which include This is Bliss, Sweet as a Peach Boutique, and Ruby Red Photography, among others—will offer a wide variety of crafts and goods, such as massages, makeup, jewelry, photography and even crocheted hats.

“We just hope (people) will come out and support the community,” she said.
