Ronnie Mydel Horton, 63, of Clanton, passed away March 9 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.

He was born on June 13, 1951, in Alabama, the son of the late Mydel Horton and the late Faye Payne Horton.

He was a welder with ABC Rail.

Surviving are his granddaughter, Lauren Baker of Clanton; grandson, Ben Cleckler of Clanton; sister, Charlotte Minor of Briarfield; brother, John Horton of Briarfield; nieces, Crystal Dreyer of Briarfield, Hope Dreyer of Briarfield, Holly Dreyer of Briarfield; nephew, Jay Dreyer of Briarfield.

He was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn Horton and daughters, Anita Ann Horton and Amy Baker.

Friends will be received from 1-2 p.m. March 11 at Refuge Baptist Church.

Graveside services will be held March 11 at 2 p.m. at Refuge Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. David Reeds officiating.
