Neal Chambliss Macon

Neal Chambliss Macon, 85, of Clanton, passed away on Jan. 9 at his residence.

He was born in Coosa County on April 25, 1929, the son of the late William Macon and the late Annie Lou Conner Macon.

He was a retired mechanic.

He also served with the Cedar Grove Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department.

He is survived by his wife, Inez Macon of Clanton; daughter, Doris McKinley (Mike) of Woodburn, Ind.; son, Ricky Macon (Rhonda) Klondike, Texas; daughter, Donna Baldwin (Darrell) of Verbena; son, Danny Macon of Louisiana; son, Phillip Macon of California; four grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; 17 step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Julia Ann Campbell and Reba Duke and a brother, Johnny Macon.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Annie Lou Macon.

Visitation will be held Jan. 12 from 5-8 p.m. at Ellison Memorial Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Jan. 13 at 11 a.m. from Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack Drinkwater officiating.

The body will be in state one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Cemetery in Clanton.

Final care and arrangements entrusted to Ellison Memorial Funeral Home of Clanton.
