Schools to delay opening Thursday
Chilton County Schools will delay opening two hours on Thursday because of expected cold temperatures and wind chills.
Public schools in the county will open at 10 a.m.
Temperatures are expected to drop into the mid-teens overnight Wednesday and won’t warm much before the normal start time for schools.
According to a post on the school system’s website, breakfast will be served, and buses and school offices will all operate two hours behind normal schedule.
After the two-hour delay, schools will be open for a regular day, including extended day services.
Any changes to this schedule will be posted on the school system’s website.
Chilton Christian Academy and Jefferson State Community College Clanton Campus plan to operate on a normal schedule Thursday.
