Geneva Lee Holcomb

Geneva Lee Holcomb, 85, of Jemison, passed away on Nov. 21 at her residence.
She was born in Idabell, Okla. on Dec. 7, 1928, the daughter of the late Van Robert Provence and the late Bessie Augusta Lauthter Provence.
“Mrs. Gene” as she was affectionately known by to family friends, was a long time cashier at the Brook Highlands Winn Dixie on Highway 280.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Bertuzzi of Las Vegas, Nev.; son, John Holcomb of Northport, Va.; daughter, Kathy Headley of Jemison; son, William Glen Holcomb III of Northport, Va.; daughter, Audrey Bice of Montevallo; daughter, Tyra Holcomb of Jemison; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Peggy Holcomb of Centreville; and special friends, Candice and Clyde Barnett of Jemison.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bill Holcomb; son, Aubrey Lee Holcomb; grandson, Justin Harrison Holcomb; sisters, Eva Hogan and Syble Farricks; and a brother, James Provence.
Visitation was held Nov. 24 from 5-8 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Jemison.
Funeral services will be held Nov. 25 at 2 p.m. from Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. J. Aaron Ellison officiating.
Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
