Funeral services for Mary Lee Williams, 78, of Alexander City, were Nov. 3 at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church.
Dr. Todd Henderson officiated.
Burial followed in the Hillview Memorial Park. The family received friends on Nov. 2 from 4-6 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home.
Williams passed away Oct. 31 at Baptist Medical Center South.
She was born on Sept. 25, 1936, in Bartow, Fla. to Howard Malcolm Gilchrist and Ruth Iola Henderson Gilchrist.
She was an active member of First United Methodist Church where she participated in the Circle of Love, Dorcus Circle, and the Friendship Sunday School Class.
She was also an active member of Beta Sigma Phi. She was an avid reader, participated in numerous Bible studies, was an Emmaus Server, and loved to travel.
Williams was also an excellent Bridge player. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her daughters, Loulee W. Karn (David) of Clanton and Sharon W. Fuller (Steve) of Jackson’s Gap; son, Fred Williams, Jr. of Montgomery; grandchildren, Gilchrist Karn, Grantland Karn, LinLee Karn, Steve Fuller, Jr. and Haley Fuller, and sister Brucille Peoples (Jimmy).
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Archie Williams Sr.; her parents; and brother, Malcolm Gilchrist.
