The Maplesville Red Devils came out strong Friday night with a 61-0 win over the Akron Rams.
The Red Devils are now 8-0 and 6-0 in the region, while Akron drops to 0-9 and 0-6.
During the first half of the game, the Red Devils scored six touchdowns with junior Jerry Nix scoring the first touchdown.
Freshman Nathaniel Watson scored a touchdown, junior Trey Mixon scored, as did sophomore Terrance Dunlap. They were just several players for the Red Devils who scored during Friday night’s game.
“The guys played really hard tonight,” coach Brent Hubbert said. “I thought we got to play a lot of younger guys tonight which I hope will help us in years to come.”
With the Red Devils facing Sweet Water next week, Hubbert said he hopes to prepare his team this week for a challenging opponent.
“It is going to be a big game for us,” Hubbert said. “It will be on Halloween so we hope people will come out and cheer us on.”
