Bears finish unbeaten in region play

Billingsley capped off the region portion of its schedule undefeated with a 60-6 win Friday over Autaugaville.

The Bears (5-2 overall) are 5-0 in region play, guaranteeing them first place in the region with the playoffs looming after next week’s non-region game.

On Friday, quarterback Thomas Nichols completed eight passes in 15 attempts for 195 yards, two touchdowns and two two-point conversions.

Nichols’ favorite target was Jaytarius Steele, who caught four passes for 77 yards.

Tommy Williams caught eight passes for 32 yards and a touchdown.

Rashaud Caver was the leading rusher with 58 yards and one touchdown on six carries, while Derrick Dunigan added 40 yards and a score on seven carries.

Caver paced the defense with six tackles, while Steele had an interception.
