A dwarf maple tree was planted at the Chamber grounds in Clanton, alongside a marker that reads: “In loving memory of Michael B. Robertson, Chilton County Chamber of Commerce Director, 1999-2005, 2009-2014.”

Robertson passed away in February, leaving a legacy that will not be forgotten, as evidenced by the words spoken Tuesday.

Clanton City Councilwoman Mary Mell Smith introduced Robertson’s wife, Patsy.

“He was a very, very special man,” Smith said.

Patsy Robertson noted her late husband’s sense of humor and strength.

“I drew strength from him, and we both drew strength from the Lord,” she said. “He touched a lot of people.”

Chamber executive assistant Brittani Ellison thanked the city of Clanton for use of the property where the Chamber is located, and recalled the pride Mike Robertson took in the site.
