A suspect is in custody after a chase that started in Montgomery County and Autauga County ended Monday night just north of the Chilton County line.

Sgt. Denise Barnes, a Montgomery Police Department spokeswoman, said officers with the Montgomery Police Department responded to a disturbance call around 7:47 p.m. Monday.

“MPD attempted to apprehend a subject wanted in connection with felony warrants,” Barnes said. “Officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop, and the subject refused to stop.”

A traffic pursuit began and was terminated at the Chilton County U.S. Highway 31 line.

The pursuit was taken over by Alabama State Troopers and the suspect was taken into custody at Mile Marker 1016.

The name of the suspect has not been released, but Barnes did confirm there were no injuries to the officers.

Additional charges are pending for the suspect, Barnes said.
