Two people were injured Friday in a wreck that involved a hearse in a funeral procession.

The procession was headed west on Highway 22 when the hearse and a vehicle headed in the opposite direction collided head-on.

The driver of the hearse was airlifted with injuries that were considered potentially life-threatening, according to Clanton Fire Chief David Driver. The driver of the other vehicle was transported to a hospital by ambulance.

A third vehicle was involved in the wreck, but no occupants of that vehicle were injured.

The wreck occurred near the intersection with Willie Hamilton Road and LeCroy Career Tech Center.
