Robert “Bobb” Gordon Lee Sr., 80, of Clanton passed away on Saturday, Sept. 20.

Lee was born on Aug. 16, 1934, in Jefferson County to the late Alvin and Anna Mae Lee.

Lee is survived by his son, Robert Gordon Lee Jr., of Rome, Ga.; daughter, Patti Henry of Milledgeville, Ga.; daughter, Judith Christina Lee of Rome, Ga.; daughter, Renee Lee of Rome, Ga.; grandchildren, Stan Jones of Niceville, Fla., Dustin Ryan Lee of Rome, Ga., Melissa Robinson of Cartersville, Ga., Tiffany Henry of Kissimmee, Fla., Christopher Tumblin of Rome, Ga.; as well as many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Lee is preceded in death by parents, Alvin and Anna Mae Lee; brother, John Lee; brother, Marvin “Ed” Lee; and daughter Karen Cowell.

Lee was a devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

His grandchildren all knew him as “Gindy.”

He loved to travel, fish and told many jokes.

In 1993 Lee moved to Clanton.

He spent countless hours working on “Lee’s Trees,” his family genealogy.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, Sept. 26, at 2:30 p.m. at Highland Memorial Gardens, located at 3115 18th Ave. N., Bessemer, with the Rev. Steve Henry officiating.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Clanton on Friday.
