Several local high school football games were delayed because of lightning.

Officials decided to try to begin the Loachapoka-Verbena game at 8 p.m., instead of the usual start time of 7 p.m.

Maplesville’s game at Keith was postponed to 1 p.m. Saturday.

Thorsby’s game against R.C. Hatch was postponed to 7 p.m. Monday.

Isabella took a 6-0 lead on Autaugaville before the game was suspended with 4:10 remaining in the first quarter.

Billingsley trailed Gordo 2-0 when the game was suspended late in the first quarter.

Other games delayed include Oxford at Chilton County and Autaugaville at Isabella.
