Clanton Police make additional arrest while looking for burglar

Clanton Police nabbed an extra suspect Tuesday while looking for the perpetrator of a burglary off Taylor Avenue.
While investigating the burglary, CPD West Precinct officers made contact with a subject matching the description of the suspect, according to a press release.
As detectives approached, the subject fled, and a foot pursuit began.
During the chase, the subject was seen throwing down a bag that contained a substantial amount of marijuana and synthetic marijuana.
Rodriguez Dennis, 30, of Clanton was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and attempting to elude.
No bond had been set at the time of the release.
The actual burglary suspect was later located and arrested.
Artemis Terry, 30, of Clanton was charged with first-degree burglary, menacing and second-degree assault, according to the release.
Terry was placed in the Chilton County Jail, and a bond of $35,750 was set.
