Fulmer said the JPD received information that Brown could have been involved in attempting to entice a child for sexual acts.

On Thursday evening, Fulmer said investigators conducted an undercover operation.

“During this investigation, investigators started communicating with Brown via electronic text messaging,” Fulmer said. “Brown arranged to meet with what he thought was a 14-year-old kid, but he was met by Jemison police officers.”

Brown was immediately taken into custody.

“We will always do everything we can to protect our citizens especially our young kids,” Fulmer said. “There is no place in our society for people who would even think to do this type of crime.”

Brown is currently being held in the Chilton County Jail with no bond.
