Walter J. “Dick” Parrish, 91, of Clanton, passed away July 18 at his residence in Clanton.

He was born on July 15, 1923, in Chilton County, the son of the late James Pate Parrish and the late Para Lee Jones Parrish.

He was a retired truck driver.

He is survived by his two daughters, Barbara P. Bryant of Wetumpka and Kay Lucas (Lloyd) of Clanton; two sons, Dickie Parrish (Juanita) of Trinity and Jimmie Parrish (Tawana) of Wetumpka; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Anita Decker Parrish and daughter, Shirley P. Culpepper.

Friends will be received from 10-11 a.m. July 22 at West End Baptist Church with funeral services following at 11 a.m. at West End Baptist Church with the Rev. Daniel Wilson and the Rev. Tony Smitherman officiating.

Interment will follow in Martin Memorial Cemetery in Clanton.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to West End Baptist Church Building Fund, 2005 Second Ave. No., Clanton, 35045.
