Norma Jean Parker Wilson was born Nov. 22, 1940.

She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior as a young adult.

She married the late Willie Varnell Wilson on Aug. 27, 1960, and from this union she had thirteen children; Shirley Wilson, Shadrick Wilson, Sheila Wilson, John (Alethea) Wilson, Lucretia (Norman) Blackmon, Sabrina (Arthur) Harris, Sherry (Algarian) Burks, Dorothy (Rodney) England, Jo (Clifford) Murray, Adrain (Marshell) Wilson, Yalonda Wilson, Willis (Eulalia) Wilson, and Darrell (Jessica) Wilson. At 73 years old, she was called home to be with the Lord on July 9. Her husband preceded her in death; she was survived by all her children, 29 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

The family is having a wake in her honor on July 18 from 6-7 p.m. at The Good Shepherd Funeral Home in Montevallo.

Funeral services are on July 19 at noon at the New Convert Missionary Baptist Church in Maplesville with burial at New Convert Cemetery.
