The Rev. Bunion H. Porter, 83, of Jemison, passed away July 1.

He was born on Feb. 9, 1931, in Chilton County, the son of the late George Porter Jr. and the late Etha Ellen Ellison Porter.

He was a minister.

He is survived by his wife, Irene Porter; sons, Allen Porter (Janet) and Kenneth Porter (Terri); daughter, Anita Owens (James); sisters, Christine Ellison, Emma Jean Porter; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, all of Jemison.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Etha Porter; brothers, Vernon, Carl and George T. Porter; sister, Pearline Martin.

Friends will be received from 10-2 July 6 at Thompson Chapel Assembly of God Church in Jemison.

Services will be held July 6 at 2 p.m. at Thompson Chapel Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Mark Bolton, the Rev. Thurman Cleckler and the Rev. Randy Reid officiating.

Interment will follow in Midway Memorial Gardens in Jemison.
