The Rotary Club of Chilton County’s annual Peach Classic Fishing Tournament will be held Saturday at Lake Mitchell.

The tournament will begin at safe light and end at 2 p.m.

Those interested in registering can do so online at RotaryClubofChiltonCounty.org or in person the day of the tournament, which will begin and end at Higgins Ferry Park.

The weigh-in will be handled by Kim Cleckler of Thunderhawk Boats.

The $100 entry fee includes a $10 entry fee for the “big fish” pot.

Proceeds will benefit Rotary Club of Chilton County charities.

“The Peach Classic Fishing Tournament has long been one of the main fundraisers for the Rotary Club of Chilton County,” club President Stephen Dawkins said. “This tournament allows our club to do good for our community, so I hope many fishermen will come out and participate on Saturday.”

First- , second- and third-place prizes depend on the number of boats registered.

“The prize money available will increase along with the number of participants, so all the fishermen should tell their friends to join them,” Dawkins said.

The first-place prize will be at least $500 and could be $1,000. Second-place prize ranges from $200 to $500, and the third-place prize ranges from $100 to $250.

Door prizes will also be given away after the weigh-in.
