Billy Floyd Fulmer, age 84 of Verbena, passed away suddenly on June 12, 2014, at his residence.
He was born in Clanton on March 24, 1930, the son of the late Elbert Fulmer and the late Dovie Melton Fulmer.
He was a retired law enforcement officer with over 30 years of service. He served with the Clanton Police Department and the Chilton County Sheriff’s Department, where he served as chief deputy.
He is survived by: son, Billy Wayne (Diane) Fulmer of Clanton; daughter, Ginger (Dennis) Autrey of La Vergne, Tenn.; son, Ricky Fulmer of Verbena; special friend, Norma Dean of Verbena; 13 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; brother, Clifton (Brenda) Fulmer of Clanton; and sister, Eula Florence (Jim) Popwell of Clanton.
He is preceded in death by: daughter, Kathy Maupin; grandson, Josh Newman; great-grandson, Jeremy Fulmer; parents, Elbert and Dovie Fulmer; and a brother, Horace Fulmer.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 13 from 6–8 p.m. at Ellison Memorial Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 14 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeff Mims officiating.
Burial will follow in Chestnut Creek Cemetery in Verbena.
