Ruby Merle Burnette, 86, of Clanton, passed away June 4 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.

She was born on Sept. 14, 1927, in Alabama, the daughter of the late Dewey Joiner and the late Flora Walton Joiner.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Vasteen Burnette of Clanton; daughters, Joan Hughes of Columbiana, Sheila Jones of Clanton; sisters, Della Hughes of Columbiana, Lois Queen of Columbiana; brothers, Ronnie Joiner of Columbiana, Bobby Joiner of Columbiana, Gene Joiner of Columbiana, Solon Joiner of Columbiana; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her son, Ricky Leon Moore and grandson, Larry Bryan Bentley.

Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. June 6 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Services will be held June 7 at 1 p.m. at New Salem with the Rev. Larry Reeser officiating.

Interment will follow in New Salem in Clanton.
