Indiana man killed in single-vehicle crash near Billingsley

A single-vehicle crash on Monday, one mile west of Billingsley, claimed the life of an Indiana man.

Ronald Williamson, 52, of New Carlisle, Ind., was killed when the 2007 Freightliner he was driving left the roadway and struck a tree.

Williamson was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to a release distributed by Alabama Department of Public Safety Public Information/Education Unit Sgt. Steve Jarrett.

Jarrett said the crash occurred at 8:30 p.m. on U.S. 82 on Monday, one mile west of Billingsley.

The crash was not discovered until 11 a.m. on June 3.

Additional information was not available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
