An 18-wheeler carrying lumber flipped on Interstate 65 southbound at the 214-mile marker Thursday afternoon resulting in delays.

The single-vehicle crash occurred at 1:10 p.m. when an 18-wheeler carrying lumber flipped, according to Alabama Department of Public Safety Information/Education Unit spokesman Sgt. Steve Jarrett.

No injuries were reported, but the incident caused one lane of traffic on I-65 southbound to be blocked, which lasted for several hours.

Although it is unclear how authorities disposed of the lumber that came off the truck during the crash, authorities worked the scene and traffic was running smoothly by late Thursday afternoon.

Jemison Police Chief Shane Fulmer said he drove by the wreck heading out of town, and it appeared the lumber was being loaded back on the 18-wheeler.

Jarrett said Alabama State Troopers are continuing to investigate the crash.
