Friendship Baptist Church

Our choir special was “He is Exalted” with a solo part by Laura Conradi.

Bro. Ken Daniel’s sermon was from 2 Timothy 2:1-10. The title was “Renewing Our Vision.” Serving Christ was illustrated by a soldier, an athlete and a farmer.

Jerry Wilson gave his personal testimony about how God has been working in his life for the last nine months.

Our study continued in Revelation 17-18.

Congratulations to Mark Conradi. He is the proud grandfather of Lillian June, born April 4 at 10:06 a.m. She weighed 6 lbs. and 14 oz. and was 19 inches long.

Happy birthday to Yvonne Byars and Sam Wilkerson.

Prayer requests: Beth Kryscuk, Sam Wilkerson, Charles Funderburk, Gary Miller, Pauline and Preston Little, Betty James, Sherry Sexton, Clarence Evans, Jacina Gore, Carol Collier’s sister Lawana, Shelli Sansom, the family of Bobby Seals and unspoken requests.

Christ Independent Methodist Church

On the rainy Sunday, our reward along the way to church was seeing the beautiful trees in bloom. The dogwood and redbud trees have never impressed me so much.

Our service began with the congregation singing “There is a Fountain,” “He Loves Me” and “The Old Rugged Cross.”

Dr. Mac Stinson’s sermon was based on scripture from Psalm 51: “Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy loving kindness. According unto the multitude of thy tender mercies, blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity and cleanse me from my sin, for I acknowledge my transgressions and my sin is ever before me.”

David is believed to have written some of the psalms. It is probable that the book as we know it was compiled within the second century B.C.

Continue to pray for Mary Ann Carden, George Lutza, Jimmy Northcutt, Bobby Varden and all in need of prayer.

If you would like to order an Easter lily to place in the sanctuary for Easter Sunday in honor or memory of someone, please see Laura Lee. The lilies are $8 each. Following the service, the lilies will be available for those who placed them.

Evening worship service: “24 Hours That Changed the World.” Plan to spend the evening of April 18 with us.
