Rebels off to 4-0 start

Thorsby’s baseball team improved to 4-0 with wins over Dallas County (14-4) on Feb. 18 and West Blocton (8-2) on Feb. 20.
Against Dallas County, Tyler Owens hit a home run and drove in three runs.
Wesley Posey went 2-for-3 at the plate with two runs scored, and Cody Scott recorded back-to-back doubles and drove in two runs.
Chris Brown started the game on the mound for the Rebels and pitched four innings. He was relieved by Dylan Carroll, who pitched the final two innings of the game.
Against West Blocton, seven different Thorsby pitchers—each one tossing one inning—combined for 10 strikeouts.
Included in the democratic pitching effort was Sam Gasson, who made his first appearance for the Rebels. He surrendered a hit to the first batter he faced but then struck out the next three batters.
Cody Scott paced THS at the plate, going 2-for-2 with a double, RBI and two runs scored.
Jagger Cook drove in two runs.
