Michael Alcott Bakich

Michael Alcott Bakich, 66, of Verbena, went home to be with the Lord on Feb. 9.
He was born in Tampa, Fla., on May 7, 1944.
He was a former pilot for National and PanAm Airlines.
He loved the outdoors and was an avid horseman, water skier, surfer, golfer, fisherman, hunter and gun collector.
He is survived by his daughter, Chana Michelle Bakich Schroeder of Celebration, Fla.; granddaughters, Brooklyn Makyla Sheehen and Addison Alcott Bakich of Celebration, Fla.; former wife, Patricia B. Kumatsky of Tampa, Fla.; sister, Sue Ann Hoyt (Art) of Clanton; sister, Patty Bakich Drake of Verbena; sister, Jennifer Olson-Ives of Twisp, Wash. and a host of nieces and nephews and too many friends to count.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Yvonne Bakich; mother, Mary Sue Olson and father, Michael Alcott Bakich Sr.
A visitation will be held Feb. 13 from 5-7 p.m. at Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home in Clanton.
A service will follow the visitation at 7 p.m. in the Memorial Chapel of Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home with the Rev. Thurmond Cleckler officiating.
An interment service will be held at a later date in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Okeechobee, Fla.
