Authorities investigate theft at county road department

A male suspect (pictured) was seen in surveillance cameras wearing a hooded green jacket stealing catalytic converters from vehicles parked at the road department.
Authorities are investigating a theft at the Chilton County Road Department off Airport Road in Clanton on Nov. 24 at 1 p.m.
A male suspect was seen in surveillance cameras wearing a hooded green jacket stealing catalytic converters from the vehicles parked at the road department.
Chilton County Engineer Tony Wearren said the theft occurred on a Sunday afternoon when no employee was at the road department.
The suspect drove away in a maroon colored extended cab pickup truck but covered his tag during the theft.
The Clanton Police Department is handling the investigation.
