Ottis Eugene “Peanut” Neeley, 77, of Clanton died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013.

He was born on Sunday, June 28, 1936, in Chilton County, son of the late Wilbert Neeley and the late Mary Hedgepeth Neeley.

He was a carpenter.

Surviving are his wife, Ruby Neeley; daughter, Gwen (Garry) Vines; grandson, Heath (Freda) Vines; granddaughter, Heather (David) Staggs; great-grandchildren, Gracie, Jacob, and Will Vines, Tyler and Bailee Staggs; and sisters, Louise Smith and Dorothy Powers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbert and Mary Neeley.

Friends will be received from 5–8 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 21 at Martin Funeral Home.

Services will be held Friday, Nov. 22 at 11 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy Boatwright officiating.

Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Baptist Cemetery in Jemison.
