Charles L. “Charlie” Mitchell, 61, of Jemison, passed away on Nov. 17 at his residence. He was born in Clay County on Aug. 23, 1952, the son of the late Cummie Mitchell.

He was a brick mason.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Gilmore of Jemison; daughter, Melisa Cutshall of Weaverville, N.C.; son, Billy Charles Mitchell of Burlington, N.C.; grandchildren, Grey Keaton, Kelsey R. Mitchell, Ashlyn C. Mitchell, Noah L. Mitchell and Kylie Mitchell; sister, Marie Stidham of Winterhaven, Fla., sister, Pearl Parmer of Bozier City, La., along with a host of nieces, nephews and close friends.

Visitation will be held Nov. 19 from 5-7 p.m. at Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home.

Funeral services will immediately follow at 7 p.m. in the Memorial Chapel of Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home with the Rev. J. Aaron Ellison officiating.
