Myrtice Lorene Cost Turner

Myrtice Lorene Cost Turner, 96, of Clanton, passed away on Oct. 7 at UAB in Birmingham.

She was born on April 4, 1917, in Alabama, the daughter of the late John P. Cost and the late Reacie Lowery Cost.

She was a homemaker.

Surviving are her daughters, Joyce Campbell, Barbara Webster (Rufus) of Clanton, Betty Hays of Clanton; sons, Charles Turner (Linda) of Autaugaville, Larry Turner (Marsha) of Clanton; sisters, Jewel Wyatt of Clanton, Jessie Smith of Bowie, Md.; sister-in-law, Juanita Lowry of Oliver Springs, Tenn.; 15 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, E.H. Turner; parents, John P. and Reacie Cost and brother, Willie F.C. Cost; son-in-law and grandchildren, John, Teresa, Richard and Johnny Thomas.

Turner was the oldest member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church, member of the Esther Sunday School Class and the Clanton Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She was full-time homemaker devoting herself to caring for her family as well as spending months caring for her ill mother.

Turner was a woman of faith. She enjoyed her flower garden, canning fresh fruit and vegetables and going to church fellowshipping with friends.

She will be greatly missed.

Friends will be received from 12:30-2 p.m. Oct. 9 at Liberty Hill Baptist Church.

Services will be held on Oct. 9 at 2 p.m. at Liberty Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Kent Dodson officiating.

Interment will follow in Liberty Hill Baptist Cemetery in Clanton.
