Hattie J. Knight, 94, of Clanton, passed away on Oct. 6 at Hatley Health Care in Clanton.

She was born on Feb. 27, 1919, in Chilton County, the daughter of the late Stewart Maudling and the late Roxie McKenzie Maudling.

She was a grocery store owner.

Surviving are her daughters, Gail Ray of Clanton, Carol Elaine Johnson of Clanton, Joyce “Tinker” Durham of Clanton; son, Donald “Doe” Knight of Coopers; 15 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Shorty Knight and son, Gabby Knight.

Friends will be received from noon-1 p.m. Oct. 8 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Services will be held Oct. 8 at 1 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert Sandifer officiating.

Interment will follow in Martin Memorial Cemetery in Clanton.
