Chilton County could manage only a field goal at Sylacauga on Friday in a 13-3 loss.
Sylacauga drove 70 yards in seven plays on its opening possession and scored on a fourth-down pass play from 16 yards out to take a 7-0 lead.
The CCHS defense was stout the rest of the game, but the Tigers’ offense could make no headway, their only score coming on a Stephen Horn 32-yard field goal with 11:42 remaining in the fourth quarter.
Sylacauga (4-2, 3-1) scored another touchdown with less than a minute left to play, and the Tigers (3-3, 2-2) blocked the point-after attempt.
Cade Hatch intercepted three Sylacauga passes as the Chilton defense kept the team in the game.
