Sue Doler Grooms

Sue Doler Grooms, 84, of Isabella, passed away Sept. 29.

She was born on Feb. 10, 1929 in Slate Springs, Miss., the daughter of the late Gilbert E. Doler and the late Mary Carrier Doler.

She was an elementary school teacher who taught in the Autauga County School System for 25 years.

Surviving are her sons, Harold Y. Grooms (Dawn) of Prattville; R. Greg Grooms (Mary Jane) of Austin, Texas, Garry K. Grooms (Sandra) of Franklin, Tenn.; daughter, Susan Grooms Hall (Buddy) of Virginia Beach, Va.; grandsons, Jonathan Grooms, Stephen Grooms, Ian Grooms, Peter Grooms, Mason Hall, Graham Hall, Adam Hall, Kevin Grooms, Collin Grooms; granddaughters, Kristen Grooms, Fiona Grooms Barker, Catherine Grooms, Emily Grooms, Kathleen Grooms; great-grandson, John Barker; great-granddaughters, Mary Barker, Noemi Grooms; brothers, Thurston, Paul and Bill Doler.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hansell Grooms to whom she was married for 57 years.

Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. on Oct. 1 at Mulberry Baptist Church.

Services will be held on Oct. 2 at 11 a.m. at Mulberry Baptist Church with the Rev. Andy Mims and the Rev. David Bishop officiating.

Interment will follow in Mulberry Baptist Cemetery in Maplesville.
