The Chilton County Firefighters Association will host the Fourth Annual Chilton County Firefighter Association Fun Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
The event will be held at the Central Alabama Horse Club arena in Clanton off Highway 145 at Interstate 65 Exit 212. It is free to all Chilton County residents.
Attractions will include appearances by Smokey the Bear and Sparky the Fire Dog, free games with prizes, inflatables, hay rides, a dunking booth, cake walks, fire hose games, door prizes, a fire safety trailer, fire trucks and tankers, ladder trucks, ambulances and rescue trucks, an Air Evac helicopter, free hot dogs, drinks, chips and cookies.
“This is a great way to spend the day with the family,” Tina Thomas with the firefighters association said in a press release. “The kids can see all different types of firefighter gear and equipment that is used within our county to help keep our county residents safe.”
An added attraction this year will be a gospel music singing, which will feature Canaanland and other local talent and begin at noon.
“Every year we try to add more games and entertainment to make this a great day for the kids and for the adults,” said Thomas, who is also with Gap of the Mountain Fire and Rescue.
Along with the Chilton County Firefighters Association, Fun Day is supported by RPS Ambulance Service, Care Ambulance Service and Alabama Forestry Division.
