Richard Leo Porter
Richard Leo Porter, 73, of Jemison, passed away on August 7 at his residence. He was born in Chilton County on May 26, 1940, the son of the late Leonard Porter and the late Athalee Price Porter.
He was a former superintendent with Bonitz Insulation and Red Mountain Construction Company.
He is survived by his wife, Dot Porter of Jemison; son, Roger Porter (Dean) of Jemison; daughter, Dorothy Varden (Tim) of Jemison; son, Randy Porter (Laura) of Verbena; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Tommy Porter of Jemison; sister, Annie Lee Littleton of Clanton and sister, Judy Henderson of Clanton.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Athalee Porter; sister, Janice Marie Porter and sister, Cathy Hubbard.
Funeral services will be held on Aug. 10 at 11 a.m. from the Memorial Chapel of Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Jones and the Rev. J. Aaron Ellison officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Burial will follow in Midway Memorial Gardens in Jemison.
