Jackson Chapel Church
Bro. Gary Fant got the morning worship service started off with “There’s Power in the Blood” and “I Love to Tell the Story.” During prayer service, people began to come to the altar to pray, and because there was such a move of the Holy Spirit, Bro. Dennis did not get to preach.
Bro. Horace Wyatt got the evening service started off with “When We All Get to Heaven” and “Just a Little Talk With Jesus,” Bro. Dennis blessed us with “Glory Road.”
Bro. Dennis’ text came from Matthew 26:45, with a message titled “The Purpose of Pain.” Sometimes God allows his people to go through things because there is always a purpose for pain. When Jesus Christ went through all the beating and torment, he knew there was going to be a purpose for the pain. The pain we suffer with in this life is not always a good thing to go through, but we need to ensure these things get us to where God wants us to be. We also go through pain to strengthen us or to get us back to where we need to be.
Happy birthday to Susan Smith and Sharon Caudle.
Please remember these as you pray this week: Juanita Wyatt, Janie Smitherman, Melba Adams, the Rev. Pate Hughins, Wanda Chadwick’s dad, Cole Riley, the Rosie Merrell family, Amy Solis and family, Joshua Hayes, our lost loved ones and our service men and women.
Cedar Grove Church
Hallelujah! God is still in control.
Bro. Jeff Carroll’s text came from 2 Corinthians 4:7-18, 5:1-8 and was titled “Here Compared to There.”
God has given us a choice: We can live on this earth in the will of God, doing his work, or we can continue on in life, saying, “I got this. I don’t need God.” You can be here, saved and on your way to heaven, or be here, lost in sin and on your way to a devil’s hell because you have rejected and denied Christ. You can have a promising future or a death sentence.
Some people believe they are God’s children because they are born here as his creation, but not a saved child of the King. We need to have ministry in our lives for Jesus. There are many opportunities here to minister for God. We need to be about God’s work. The things here are seen; things there are unseen, accepted on faith. To get to there, we have to exit this body, exit here. We want to be there because we know what is here, and on faith, we know through God’s promises what is there: our great hope, which helps us through our storms. We have discussed here, now we will tell you about there:
1.) Jesus is there. If you really want to be closer to Jesus, just stop and remember what he did for us on the cross. 2.) There, we will have a glorified body. 3.) There, we will have perfect peace and rest. There will be no more sin, no more enemies to face; he will be gone forever. 4.) That Great City is there. Nowhere on earth can compare to being there with Jesus. 5.) Eternal life, the Tree of Life, is there.
Hallelujah, hallelujah. Sing Hosannas to the King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Jesus Christ.
Is your name written in the Lamb’s Book of Life? Will you be here or there when the trumpet sounds?
God bless and have a great week!
