William Fred Hayes Sr., 34, of Prattville, passed away on Aug. 2 in Plantersville.

He was born in Selma on June 19, 1979, the son of Bobby Fred Hayes Jr. and Faith Cooper Ellis.

He was a construction worker.

He is survived by his wife, Gail Hayes of Prattville; son, William Fred Hayes Jr. of Prattville; son, Zachary Devin Hayes of Prattville; mother, Faith Cooper Ellis (Joseph) of Glencoe; father, Bobby Fred Hayes Jr. (Rita) of Coleman, Okla; sister, Hope Hayes of Boston, Mass.; sister, Rachel Hayes Brooks (Keith) of Gadsden; sister, Rebecca Hayes of Coleman, Okla.; grandmother, Dorothy Cooper of Randolph; grandfather, Bobby Fred Hayes Sr. of Plantersville; grandparents, William Earl and Geneva Willitte of Plantersville; grandparents, James and Celestia Clackler of Prattville; father and mother-in-law, Phillip and Lilly Walker of Prattville and a close friend, Stan Miller of Montgomery.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Raymond Cooper; grandmother, Dora Alice Hayes; great-grandmother, Lannice Mobley and great-grandmother, Martha Smitherman.

Graveside funeral services were held on Aug. 4 at 2 p.m. from Alpine Baptist Church Cemetery in Plantersville with the Rev. Johnny Jones and the Rev. William Earl Short officiating.

The body was  in state one hour prior to the service at Alpine Baptist Church.
