Chilton Auburn Club golf tournament set for Aug. 10

The Chilton Auburn Club’s annual golf tournament will be held Saturday, Aug. 10 at the Clanton Country Club.

The cost to participate is $400 per team and includes a golf cart. Each team will consist of four players.

Hole sponsorships are $50 each. New hole sponsorships must be purchased by Friday, Aug. 2, and existing hole sponsorships must be purchased by Friday, Aug. 9.

Tournament registration and hole sponsorship fees may be submitted to Toni Miller, Amber Darnell, Glenda Mims, Charles Bates or any other club board member.

All proceeds from the tournament go to the club’s scholarship fund, which has allowed the club to provide annually two half scholarships to Chilton County students.

“This is how we raise money for our scholarships,” club president Toni Miller said. “Proceeds go directly back to a scholarship we give to Chilton County students going to Auburn. This is our largest fundraiser.”

Prizes for the longest drive, shot closest to the hole and more will be awarded.

Participants need to be at the course by 7:30 a.m., and the tournament starts at 8 a.m.
