Betty Jean DuBose Mims, 71, of Clanton passed away on June 16 at her residence in Clanton.

She was born Jan. 20, 1942 in Orlando, Fla. in Orange County; daughter of the late John Watson DuBose and the late Lillian Lucille Hunt Dubose.

Betty was a faithful and loving wife, mother and homemaker.

Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Gerald D. Mims of Clanton; son, John M. Mims (Jennifer); two brothers, T.J. DuBose and James E. DuBose; four grandchildren, Chris, Jared, Tyler and Jessica; two great-grandchildren, Bryson and Brayden.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jerry D. Mims and her sister, Grace M. Dubose.

Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m. on June 17 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Clanton.

Services will be held on June 18 at 11 a.m. at New Covenant Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Brooks officiating.

Interment will follow in Chestnut Creek Baptist Cemetery in Verbena.
