James Elmore Bixler

James Elmore Bixler, 65, of Prattville, passed away on June 9 at his residence. He was born in Rupert, Ark. on Aug. 18, 1947, the son of the late Coy Bixler and the late Juanita Hoyle Bixler.

He worked in maintenance at the paper mill.

He is survived by his wife, Vivian Bixler of Prattville; son, Greg Bixler of Prattville; daughter, Melissa Baker of Prattville; grandchildren, Andy Baker, Ashley Baker, Tamara Bixler, Leah Bixler and Mary Beth Bixler, all of Prattville; brother, Kenith Bixler of Rising Sun, Md.; brother, Manuel Bixler of Clinton, Ark. and brother, Ben Bixler of Clinton, Ark.

Visitation will be held on June 11 from 6-8 p.m. at Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on June 12 at 2 p.m. from the Memorial Chapel of Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Armstrong officiating.

Burial will follow in the Bethany Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Verbena.

Pallbearers will be Joey Rettea, Danny Harris, Justin Gray, David Rinehart, Dale Gifford and David Shirley.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Bixler, Michael Bixler, Heath Gifford, Doug McDonald, Ron Bryant and J.C. Breazeale.

The family request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Gideon’s International or to Landmark Baptist Church in Prattville.

Final care and arrangements entrusted to Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home of Clanton.
