Elizabeth Christine Childress, 85, of Clanton passed away on May 3 at Hatley Heath Care.

She was born on Friday, Oct. 7, 1927 in Chilton County, the daughter of the late Grady G. Williams and the late Maude Adams Williams.

She was a sales clerk.

She is survived by her son, Bill Childress of Birmingham; daughters, Brenda Ousley of Clanton and Linda Blankenship of Thorsby; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Ray Williams of Montgomery and Marc Williams of Prattville; sister, Mary Melton of Little Rock, Ark.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William C. “Billy” Childress.

Friends were received from 2-3 p.m. on May 6 at West End Baptist Church.

Services were held on May 6 at 3 p.m. at West End Baptist Church with the Rev. Daniel Wilson and the Rev. Eddie Lightsey officiating.

Interment followed in Martin Memorial Cemetery in Clanton.
