Best in the field: Chilton County High School golfer shot a tournament-best 66 on Monday during his team’s section tournament at Timberline golf course.
Forrest Knight was the top individual scorer and led the Chilton County High School golf team to a fourth-place finish in the Class 5A, Section 2 tournament on Monday.
The top four finishers in each section advance to the sub-state round of the playoffs.
CCHS will tee it up at Spanish Fort on May 6 against seven other teams. The top three teams—along with the top three individuals not on a qualifying team—will advance to the state tournament.
Knight recorded a 66 at Timberline golf course on Monday.
Jordan Lightsey followed with a 78, Cole Headley with an 89, Cole Watley with a 95, Jacob Hay with a 98 and Curt Bost with a 100.
The Tigers combined for a 335 score that was behind Homewood (300), Briarwood (305) and Demopolis (320).
