Voncile Ameliabelle Powell, 80, of Clanton passed away April 20 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center.
She was born on Friday, July 8, 1932, in Duval, Fla., the daughter of the late Emile Ward and the late Eloise Burch Ward.
She was a homemaker.
Surviving are her husband, Monroe Powell; daughters, Judy Robinson (Larry), Diane Cleckler, Joane Collins and June Mims; sons, John Powell (Linda) and Alton Mims; daughter-in-law, Debra Mims; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren (two on the way); brother, Clarence Elwyn (Sharon) Ward.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emile and Eloise Burch, sister, Sissy Mahan and son, Allen Mims.
Friends were received from 5-8 p.m. on April 22 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.
Services will be held April 23 at 2 p.m. at Providence No. 2 Baptist Church with the Rev. Glenn Bonds and the Rev. Tony Smitherman officiating.
Interment will follow in Providence No. 2 Baptist Cemetery.
