James Douglas Wilson, 77, of Clanton passed away on April 19 at his residence. He was born in Chilton County on Dec. 5, 1935, the son of the late James Woodrow Wilson and the late Jettie Mims Wilson.

He was an electrician and served his country in the United States Air Force.

He is survived by his daughter, Debra Sansom (Mickey) of Clanton; son, Kenny Wilson (Robin) of Clanton; grandchildren, Jeremy Baker (Kacy), Jessica Neave (Brad), Jamie Wilson Beadlecomb, Kenneth “Buddy”Wilson (Robin) and Justin Wilson; great-grandchildren, Kaden Baker, Lydia Beadlecomb, Lela Beadlecomb and Kyle Wilson; mother of his children, Marian Wilson of Clanton; sisters, Christine Williams, Faye Smith, Laverne Hayes (Aubrey) Eloise Mims (Benny), Linda Edwards (Jimmy), Brenda Thompson (Harold) and Annette Rhodes (Terry); brother, Ralph Wilson (Wanda) and a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his son, Mike Wilson; parents, James Woodrow and Jettie Wilson; nephew, David Liggett and nephew, Nathan Mims.

Visitation was held on April 20 from 5-8 p.m. at Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home.

Graveside funeral services with military honors were held on April 21 at 2 p.m. in Chilton Memorial Gardens in Clanton with the Rev. Daniel Wilson officiating.
